Back in 80's (and not to age myself) you just couldn't find a prom dress as beautiful and elegant or as affordable as you can today.

Although I made sure that I was always invited to every prom possible, I found myself unable to buy the dress that I really wanted and resorted to borrowing dresses from those that had gone before me.

Most of the dresses I wore weren't really my style or my color and I never felt really beautiful like every girl should on prom night.  Even now, I find myself searching prom dresses on Pinterest, wishing I could just go back in time and do it all over again with the vast selection and beautiful styles that are available to young women today.

In my own humble opinion, I still think prom dresses should make you look like a princess.  Although there are highly fashionable styles that are shorter and much sexier, I prefer the long, flowing, sleeveless gowns in creamy pastel colors that sparkle and twinkle like that of a modern day Cinderella and when paired with the right shoes and jewelry, a princess is actually born.

I think it's alright to wear all white or black prom dresses as long as you don't look like you're headed to the alter or a funeral.  You can dress up black and white with beautiful silver or cubic zirconia jewelry and change the entire look.  Colorful sashes, shoes, and highly fashionable hair jewelry can also add to the black or white prom dress.

Foot Jewelry of All Things Beautiful

I must say that I'm intrigued.  I'm fascinated by the new "foot jewelry" or "barefoot sandals" as they call them on certain sites...  They're beautiful and dainty and completely take the place of my once favorite flip-flops...

They're different from the beautiful silver jewelry that I currently design in my store and the first time I saw this picture on Pinterest, I was absolutely in love...

It's sexy and glamorous and it's something that I'm drawn to in fashion jewelry.  It screams "I'm feminine and pretty and worth a second look." 

Initially I think they became popular for beach weddings in the United States but now I see a select few wearing them all over the place, with or without their favorite flip flops, sandals, or high heels.  I just adore them. 

I've been busy trying to find a quality supplier but haven't had much success.  The lucky ones who sell these online are mostly retailers and do not reveal their supplier sources.  I'll just have to work harder.  Maybe I could find one of those brilliant jewelry artists on Etsy to help me out with this project or maybe figure out how to design them myself :)  Anyone for footsie?

We all know some of the rules: Sterling silver needs a good polish every once in a while, pearls should always be the last thing to put on, and you shouldn't wear leather into the shower (duh). But even fashion jewelry can take a little extra care to keep its sparkle through the season.

Fashion jewelry (n): Cheaper, more disposable jewelry intended to be worn with a particular outfit or as part of a certain trend. Not generally regarded as a collectible or investment, and usually crafted of synthetic materials. Sometimes called "costume jewelry."

The first step to proper care is taking note of the materials at the time of purchase. If it's a true fashion piece, you may see "gold-tone metal" instead of "24K gold" or "resin accents" instead of "gemstones," and so the following instructions (and common sense) will apply:

• Store jewelry in plastic bags or in a closed box.
• Remove while sleeping, showering, or working out.
• Take off when applying lotion or perfume
• Don't wear while cleaning.
• Instead of using soap or a jewelry cleaner to clean, try Windex. Rinse with water, then dry carefully. (NOTE: Never use a silver cleaner - it can strip a silver finish in seconds!)

If you're looking for a day-in, day-out statement piece, finding one crafted of genuine materials is worth the investment.
